The 22nd Inauguration Ceremony of The Economics Students' Society, HKUSTSU, has successfully completed on 18 April 2013. As the theme, "Sparkle – Igniting Passion Through The Path We Serve" implies, all 19 members of the 22nd Cabinet, E-Prowess, will organise programmes and events with passion.
The Cabinet would like to take this special occasion to thank you all of our advisors, honorable guests, honorary members, for their continuous support, and all attending society representative from different universities. The Cabinet will spare no effort in the following session to serve our fellow members.

The result of The Annual Election:

Number of abstained votes : 3
Number of invalid votes : 12
Total number of valid votes : 198
Voting rate (%) : 42%

The nominated cabinet received a number of valid votes from more than one-fourth of the full members of ESS, exceeding the minimum requirement for an effective polling; and the number of votes " For " the nominated cabinet exceeded the number " Against ". As no further complaints were received, the cabinet " E-Prowess " has been elected as the Executive Committee of The Economics Students'Society, HKUSTSU, Session 2013-2014.

Singing Contest was held on Nov 23, 2012 (Heat) and Nov 27, 2012 (Final). Heat attracted around 50 participants to compete with each other, in which only 9 of them were selected to the final phase of the competition. Two guests, Alan Ho and Benedict Yuen, joined by Prof. Siu Kam Wing in the final phase, were invited to be the judges of the contest.

Mentoring Dinner 2012 was held on Nov 19, 2012at Regal Kowloon Hotel. This year, we were very glad to have 54 prestigious mentors and over 110 students participated in the program. Mentors, whose positions were managers or above were from various fields ranging from investment banks and accounting firms to financial institutes and government institutions.

Nov 5, 2012 was the date of the Faculty Gathering, which was held in UC Bistro. Given the support of the professors of The Economics Department, participating students had a chance to chat with the professors outside lecture halls. With all the games, performances and lucky draw sessions, professors and students had a great time that night.

For the Society Gathering, a wonderful neon pub night called “螢CON” was held at Hall VI Common Room on Nov 8, 2012. With the sponsor, Jack Wills, and the renowned local band, Supper Moment, as our performance guests, the function was held very successfully. The event received excellent response from both members and non-members - over 200 students joined the function. Had the Society Gathering received this much support, it would be a milestone for The Economics Festival, and it was hoped to be organized even better next year.
