The 21st Inauguration Ceremony will be held in early May. Honorable guests, professors and student representatives will be invited to witness the formation of the 21st cabinet of Accounting Students' Society, HKUSTSU. The ceremony symbolizes the official commencement of the new session of Accounting Students' Society, HKUSTSU. It also signifies that all cabinet members will perform their very best to serve the society's members in the coming year.

Graduation Dinner

Graduation dinner is an annual function designed for accounting graduates as a celebration for graduation-- a milestone in life for university students. It aims at maintaining friendship among accounting major graduates and strengthening their bonding with the previous alumni by introducing them the Accounting Alumni Association, HKUSTAA. By organizing this memorable event for the graduates, we hope to achieve a close and long-lasting relationship among the final-year students, the alumni, and Accounting Students' Society, HKUSTSU.

Orientation Camp 2012

Orientation Camp 2012 is one of the highlighted functions of our Society. Both AL and DSE freshmen from the School of Business and Management are welcomed to participate in the orientation day and orientation camp. A 3-day-2-night in-campus camp in early August and a 2-day-1-night off-campus camp in late August will be held for AL and DSE freshmen respectively. Activities including Campfire, On-campus Orienteering, Off-campus Orienteering, Water Battle, and Joint-Society Mass Games aim at assisting freshmen in familiarizing themselves with university life and our Society. The orientation activities also aim at helping freshmen to start building up their network within the university.

Freshmen Week aims to facilitate students in adapting to university life by recruiting new members, organizing committees and sports team members of Accounting Students' Society, HKUSTSU.
Reunion of Orientation Camp 2012 allows students to have better understandings of the functions in the coming year. Besides, the Induction Session gives Year-1 students majoring in accounting more information about their curriculum and course registration procedures. Information logbooks with details mentioned above will be distributed as well.

High Flyers 2012

High Flyers 2012, a career-oriented function, includes different sub-functions such as Aptitude Test Workshop, Mock Interview with honorable guests and Winter Internship Program. Students could better prepare themselves in the job hunting process as they could experience the most updated recruitment process in real business world. Through the Mock Interview, participants could also receive invaluable comments from prestigious guests so as to sharpen their interview skills.

As an old saying goes, 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy', Join for Joy 2012 is a highlighted recreational function that aims at providing entertainment for our members after mid-term examinations. Interesting and relaxing activities will be held so as to enhance relationship among members. By joining this function, members' sense of belongings and understandings towards the Society can be facilitated as well.

Study Tour 2013 aims at providing valuable and pleasant overseas experience during the winter break. This function also aims at benefiting the participants by enhancing cultural and knowledge exchange among students in both countries. Study elements such as visits to accounting firms and universities and relaxation elements like sightseeing and shopping will be included. These activities offer precious opportunities for members to network with students and accountants abroad, foster relationship among participants, and gain global business insights.

Accounting Week 2013 is one of the most significant functions of the year. It aims to sharpen our members' competitiveness in the accounting industry and help them to have a clear picture about the business world nowadays. A series of programs including opening ceremony, business forum, firm visits, workshops, internship program and closing ceremony will be organized. By participating in these sub-functions, members can be equipped with clearer picture of the business field and obtain the most updated information about the accounting industry.

The Annual Journal 2013 is the most significant publication of the year. The journal is divided into three main parts, namely Main Theme, Current Issue and Big Survey. It aims to provide readers with recent information about the development of the accounting industry. It also aims to inspire readers through interviewing professionals in the accounting field.

Mentoring Program 2012

Mentoring Program aims at providing valuable chances for mentees to learn important life skills and to familiarize themselves with the latest business information through the interactions with mentors. Our high-profile mentors are experienced business-persons that come from a variety of business sectors, including accounting bodies, Big Four accounting firms, CPA firms, commercial banks, consulting firms, investment banks, and the finance sector. Workshops will be organized to equip students to be future business leaders. This meaningful program provides a platform for mentees to develop life-long relationship with mentors.

Accounting Alumni Association, HKUSTAA

Accounting Alumni Association, HKUSTAA is a separate committee formed and run by the alumni of the Accounting Department. Recreational activities, voluntary services, annual dinner, and annual drinks will be organised with the assistance of our Society. It aims to maintain the bonding among alumni and to develop mutually beneficial relationship between alumni and our members.

Hong Kong Inter-Tertiary Accountancy Association

Hong Kong Inter-Tertiary Accountancy Association (HKITAA) is formed and operated by eight tertiary institutions including HKUST, CUHK, PolyU, CityU, HKBU, LingU, and HKSYU. The aim of HKITAA is to unite students from different universities through joint-university functions including high table dinner, inter-tertiary ball games and HKITAA Festival.

Welfare Provision and Replenishment

Society jackets, society T-shirts, and society papers will be offered to members at special prices. Welfare will be given to all members to enjoy discounts from various shops. Year-end gifts for all members and graduation gifts for Year-3 members will be provided in March.

Intramural

Intramural is a sports league among all the departmental societies of HKUST, organized by Sports Association, HKUSTSU throughout the year. Inter-society sports competitions including
annual athletic meet, aquatic meet, ball games and campus run will be organized so as to help members to relax from studies. Inter-society relationship can also be facilitated and maintained as well.

B-League

B-League is composed of inter-departmental football, basketball and badminton competitions within the six business societies. Relationship among various business departments and societies can be maintained through the sports competitions.

Newsletter

The newsletters are issued in September and November. It supplements the Annual Journal by providing functions highlights. Society members are updated with the latest news of the Society. It provides reviews of the functions held. It also provides previews of oncoming functions and acts as a media to promote the events.

Class Activities

Class Activities aim to create a harmonious learning atmosphere for students in accounting major. Professors will be invited to share their business insights and experience during class gatherings. Photo-taking session will also be held for professors and students to treasure the memorable moments.

Skyline is an online publication which regularly provides our members with useful business career-related information and up-to-date business articles. Members could better equip themselves by reading through articles in such an online database. Moreover, they could have better understanding of the world and gain more insights about the business world.
