The ISMTII Series

The International Symposium series on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments (ISMTII) began in 1989 in Wuhan, China. In 1993, the International Committee on Measurements and Instrumentation (ICMI) was founded. With the support of ICMI and other governmental and professional organizations and institutions around the world, the ISMTII series has been successfully run four more times as

ISMTII 1993 - Chongqing-Wuhan, China
ISMTII 1996 - Hayama, Japan
ISMTII 1998 - Miskolc, Hungary
ISMTII 2001 - Cairo, Egypt

The City of Hong Kong

The International Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments for next year, the sixth one in the series, will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), 28 November - 1 December 2003, to facilitate exchanges between researchers of the field from many countries and regions around the world. The purpose is to promote and to advance measurement technology and intelligent instruments, a very important engineering subject. It is also aimed to promote friendly relations between researchers and engineers in the field world wide.

Hong Kong is well known internationally for being a place where Chinese, Western, and other cultures live together successfully. International travel to Hong Kong is very convenient. In terms of weather, November and December are among the best months of a year in Hong Kong. The local temperature for these months is around 21 degrees C, based on the records of 2001.

The campus of HKUST is located at a scenic site along the Clear Water Bay peninsula of Hong Kong. The campus is equipped with modern facilities and is about 20 minutes travel distance from the city center, which is conveniently connected to the Hong Kong International Airport.
