Here are some pictures of the family as a whole
Lassor and Fanny Agoos. They were Tory and her sibs great-great grandparents
(Rhoda's maternal grandparents). This picture was copied from the website
of The
Fanny and Lassor Agoos Library Please visit that site to learn more
about the Lassor and Fanny Agoos Charitable Fund. I blew the picture
up a little, so it's not as clear as one could wish.
Here is the The
Hatch Family, 1870–71 by Eastman Johnson. You can now see it
hanging at the Metropolitan Museum
of Art. Denny's (Pat's husband) maternal grandfather, Horace Hatch,
is the baby boy in the plaid skirt in the lower right hand of the picture.
Family legend has it that he was going to be the baby in the lap in the
center, but that his younger sister was born and so he was moved. Legend
further has it that Denny's great-great grandfather had to pay an extra
US$ 1,000 for the baby, because they were paying the artist by the head.
Here is Mom (now known as Pat Andrews) and grandmother (Virginia
Schaefer, aka Jean, nee Winter) in (I guess) 1942. I am guessing based
on the fact that mom was born in November 1941 and she looks over 2 months,
but under one year. If you're using Netscape you can choose "View Image"
to see it at full size.
