DEFINITIONS

Interpretation of Terms
1.1.1
The following definitions of terms and short forms
shall be adopted for the purpose of interpreting
the Constitution, unless otherwise stated:
a.
"HKUST" shall mean the Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology
b. "Department" shall mean the Department
of Civil Engineering, HKUST
c. "Constitution" shall mean the Constitution
of the HKUST Civil Engineering Alumni Association
d. "Association" shall mean the HKUST
Civil Engineering Alumni Association
e. "Executive Committee" shall mean
the Executive Committee of HKUST Civil Engineering
Alumni Association
f. "Members" shall mean the Members
of the HKUST Civil Engineering Alumni Association
g. "AGM" shall mean the Annual General
Meeting of the Association
h. "EGM" shall mean the Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Association
i. "GM" shall mean the General Meeting
of the Association, which may be an AGM or an
EGM
j. All plurals shall be deemed to include the
singular and vice versa.
